For the past 2 years, I’ve been a research fellow working as the director of the documentary ethics project at the Center for Social Media at American University.  We interviewed 45 documentary filmmakers about ethical decisions they have made in their work.  You can download a copy of our report,  “Honest Truths: Documentary Filmmakers on Ethical Challenges in Their Work”, which I co-wrote with Pat Aufderheide and Peter Jaszi.  And if you’re going to the Toronto International Film Festival, you’re welcome to attend the Documentary Ethics Report panel on Sunday, Sep. 13, 2009, where we’ll be discussing the report with leading filmmakers and distributors.
