Women, War & Peace is a bold new five-part PBS television series challenging the conventional wisdom that war and peace are men’s domain. Featuring narrators Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, Geena Davis and Alfre Woodard, Women, War & Peace spotlights the stories of women in conflict zones from Bosnia to Afghanistan and Colombia to Liberia, placing women at the center of an urgent dialogue about conflict and security, and reframing our understanding of modern warfare.

This series won both the Edward R. Murrow Award for documentaries and the Robert Spiers Benjamin Award for the best reporting from Latin America for its segment on the guerrilla war in Colombia. In addition, the series received a Gracie Award for Outstanding Series. The Gracies, sponsored by the Alliance for Women in Media, honors programming that encourages the realistic and faceted portrayal of women in entertainment, features, news, commercials, and other programs.

The series premiered nationally on PBS Tuesday nights from Oct. 11 to Nov. 8, 2011, and is available on DVD.  All episodes can also be viewed online at the website below.
